Ben Affleck addresses fanboy rage

Unless you’ve been in a coma on Mars, chances are you’ve heard that Ben Affleck has been cast as Batman. It’s also very likely that you’ve bore witness to the onslaught of criticism that he has had to endure. Appearing as a guest on Jimmy Fallon, the two time Oscar winner reacts to the torrent of less than flattery comments that have been aimed in his direction.

“I’m a big boy. If I can handle an Emmy snub, I can handle anything,”  he joked.

He continued: “I saw the announcement, I look at the first comment and it’s like, ‘Ben Affleck is going to be Batman’ and the first one goes, ‘Noooooooo!”

Despite a 93,000 signature petition to remove Affleck from the film, he doesn’t sound fazed by it, talking about the project with school boy enthusiasm.

“I thought, ‘I’m not 25 man and are you sure about this?’ And they said, ‘Come down we want to show you what we’re doing,’ and it was incredible.”

Directed by Zack Snyder and also starring Henry Cavill, the as yet untitled film is due for release in 2015.
