Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes trailer

Unleashed online is the teaser trailer for Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes. The film is set eight years after the events of the hugely successful 2012 film. The human population has been decimated by a man-made virus and is only now starting to organise again. There is a truce between the people and the Apes under the leadership of Caesar. The calm is about to come to an end and a war is set to ensue from which one species will emerge as the masters.

The initial teaser trailer gives just enough information to get your interest and does not give away any real plot points. The images look good and portray an Earth where society has broken down and every day is a struggle. The final chilling image of Caesar is especially good as you get a taste of the intense intelligence that fuels his hatred and anger.

Andy Serkis returns in the motion capture suit as the leader of the apes. In Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes he gave a superb performance that was overlooked for award recognition due to the belief that his work is overshadowed by the post production graphics work employed to create the ape character. Hopefully he will get more recognition this time as he is truly a wonderful actor. Alongside him will be Gary Oldman, Judy Greer and Jason Clarke.

Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes will be released on 14th July 2014.
