Kill Your Friends starts shooting

Principal photography has begun on Kill Your Friends, the much anticipated dark comedy set during the Britpop era. Based on John Niven’s cult novel of the same name, the author has been working for years to bring the story to the big screen.

Nicholas Hoult takes the lead as Steven Stelfox, a 27 year old A&R man who is always on the lookout for the next big thing. His decadent lifestyle of prostitutes and drugs gets more twisted when he resorts to murder. Craig Roberts, Georgia King and James Corden will also star.

Director Owen Harris makes his feature debut having recently worked on Misfits, Black Mirror and Holy Flying Circus.¬†With Niven also on scripting duties, here’s hoping the the brutal satire of music industry transfers to the big screen.

Kill Your Friends will shoot in London for the next five weeks and will be released in the UK by Studio Canal.
