Noah: The Ark Featurette

noah-russell-croweAhead of the cinema release of the biblical epic Noah, Paramount Pictures have released a featurette going behind the scenes of the movie. The short video takes us for a look at how the look of the Ark was developed. It gives a fascinating insight into how the design of the big boat was developed on paper and ultimately realised on set.

Director Darren Aronofsky and some of the stars and technical artists guide us through the process and provide just a small insight into the scale of the job in getting a movie onto the screen. ¬†Given the propensity for the use of CGI over practical effects it is refreshing to see that the Ark set was constructed to actual size. Sometimes there is no substitute for the ‘real’ thing.

Noah hits the cinemas in the US on the 28th of March and the UK on the 4th of April.
