Tom Hardy is the Krays in Legend

I grew up watching The Krays, the 1990 version starring Martin and Gary Kemp. I had no idea who Spandau Ballet were but on retrospect it could be forgiven if the casting raised a few eyebrows. Moviegoers needn’t have worried though as Peter Medak’s film was released to positive reviews with the Kemp brothers more than holding their own.

Legend also raises some eyebrows over it’s casting choice but this time for different reasons. It was announced that Tom Hardy would be playing both Ronnie and Reggie in Brian Helgeland’s upcoming biopic of the notorious London gangsters. Neither Helgeland or Hardy are strangers to a gritty crime thriller so this one has plenty of promise.

Legend hits cinemas this September.
