The DC cinematic universe is having a bit of trouble establishing itself as a force equal to the juggernaut that is the MCU. DC are playing catchup in a big way and so far the output has been met with a mixed reaction critically while proving to be a box office hit with audiences. The hope is, for the DC and Warners, that the stand alone Wonder Woman movie will provide them with a platform to go on and launch the Justice League movies.
The first full trailer has just been released following hot on the heels of the footage released during this years San Diego Comic Con. The film is set during the early years of the 20th Century where the world is a war. Diane (Gal Gadot) and her tribe are drawn into the conflict after she rescues an airman Steve Trevor (Chris Pine). Her act of charity brings the outside world to her kingdom and draws Diana into a conflict not of her making.
As with many super hero trailers, this is a very well put together promo which makes you want to seek out more about the film and the character in general. Hopefully the end product will live up to the initial promise and not add to the critical disappointments that have preceded it.
