Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer

It’s here! The trailer we’ve all been waiting for is finally here! Star Wars: The Last Jedi has finally given audiences a full length trailer. About time, too, since it’s due in cinemas in a mere two months time. It’s an incredibly dark and foreboding trailer that doesn’t really give too much away – but it’s certainly enough to get me and my fellow Star Wars fans foaming at the mouth in anticipation.

The tone of this latest teaser is very much in Empire Strikes Back style, and the fleeting glimpses of Carrie Fisher’s Leia are more than enough to bring a tear to your eye. Mark Hamill’s return to the franchise looks promising. I particularly liked his voiceover whispering “I’ve seen this raw strength only once before … It didn’t scare me enough then.”

There are lots of nice images – such as Luke’s artificial hand rising up from a pile of wood and embers – and fanboy favourites like the BB8 and Chewie (who seems to have the most adorable friend). The music, as always, is stirring.

I definitely think the most interesting thing to come of this Star Wars resurgence is Adam Driver as Kylo Ren. He looks like he’s going to be an incredible dynamic in the The Last Jedi as it’s clear he is battling with his place in the universe. He absolutely knocked it out of the park in The Force Awakens so I can’t wait to see how his character develops. Driver is such a strong actor, there’s no doubt he will really do it justice.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is out in cinemas on December 14.
