With all the negative publicity the film has been receiving it is good to finally get a glimpse of what the new Star Wars movie will actually look like. The criticisms aimed at director Gareth Edwards and the stories of extensive re-shoots and other film makers coming in to salvage the project are never helpful. Most people don’t realise that there are almost always a certain amount of additional work done after the film has officially wrapped up principal photography. Anyway the first full trailer does not disappoint.
Jyn Erso is a rebel and a thief. She has been chosen to carry out a very special mission for the rebel alliance. Steal the plans for the Death Star. In order to do this she has to assemble a ragtag band of fighters who can help her succeed. Felicity Jones stars as the aforementioned Ersa. She is supported by an impressive cast including Donny Yen, Riz Ahmed, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna and Mads Mikkelsen. On the dark side we have Ben Mendelsohn as Director Orson Krennic and James Earl Jones returning as everybody’s favourite mouth breathing villain.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is released on the 16th of December.
