Aningaaq

A short companion piece to Alfonso Cuaron’s film Gravity has been released. The film revisits a key scene from the film where The stranded astronaut played by Sandra Bullock makes contact with earth. The seven minute short titled Aningaaq shows the other side of the conversation.

Written and shot by Gravity co writer Jonas Cuaron, the film was at one time considered to be part of the main feature with the action switching between space and the Earth. It was dropped in order to solely concentrate on the plight in space and in effect keep the tension levels up with the added mystery of who is at the other end of the line.  The film was meant to form part of the special features for the blu ray release later this year but Warners decided to release it in order to help promote the film. It is a lovely little piece of cinema that deserves a bit of attention on its own.
