Batman, Superman and Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Johnathan-gordon-levitt-as-john-blakeIf you haven’t seen The Dark Knight Rises yet, chances are you’ve heard what happens at its conclusion. If you haven’t and don’t want to know, you’re probably best not reading any further and staying off the internet until you rectify it.

Despite Christopher Nolan’s insistence that “We’re finished with all we’re doing with Batman” it hasn’t stopped the rumours flying about that Joseph Gordon Levitt is taking over the mantle of the Bat. Speculation is rife that the star will be wearing the cowl in the upcoming Justice League film and as a prelude to that, a cameo in Superman: Man of Steel. The man himself though urges fans not to get their hopes up. “I don’t think you should believe in any of them,” he said of the rumours. “If there’s something I’m going to be in, I’m going to tell you about it.”

The 31 year old actor may not be taking up residence in Gotham anytime soon, however fanboys can take comfort in the knowledge that he has signed on for the much anticipated Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.

Sin City 2 is going to be fun,” the actor grinned. “[I’m playing] a quintessential Rodriguez badass. It’s going to be fun as hell.”

With his directorial debut Don Jon’s Addiction bought by Relativity Media for $4m (£2.52m) at the Sundance film festival, Gordon-Levitt isn’t going away anytime soon and as long as Nolan has a hold of the Superman reboot, don’t expect those rumours to go anywhere either.
